Color War
During the 8th week of camp, the camp and groups within are split into a red and white team to compete in a 4-day traditional camp color war. The campers will compete in 5 different sporting events, a swim and track meet, tug-of-war and our CIT rope burn, earning points for each event. Color War is sure to bring out the competitive nature in everyone and teaches the campers good sportsmanship, camp spirit and how to deal with success and failure on and off the field. Color War culminates Thursday evening with our annual color war sing which will take place in our casino. Throughout color war week, each team will learn 4 songs written by their color war officers. The red and white teams will face off singing their songs which are judged by Floradan Alumni. The scores will be tallied and we will then hear the final scores for the sing and overall scores for color war.
Parents are welcome all week to watch their children compete in the events and are encouraged to attend the color war sing. Color War week is the most exciting week of camp; you are not going to want to miss it!
