Elizabeth “Liz” Mulhearn Rodriguez

A familiar face to many campers and families, Liz brings deep roots in the community and a lifelong passion for education and youth development. Born and raised in lower Westchester, Liz grew up surrounded by siblings and extended family. She was a year-round swimmer and diver with Fordham’s Metro Dive Club, graduated from Tuckahoe High School (’99), and was the first of 14 grandchildren to attend her grandfather’s alma mater, Manhattan College (’03). She later earned her master’s degree at Lehman College (’07).

Since 2003, Liz has worked as a Special Education Teacher with Yonkers Public Schools, where she currently teaches 4th–6th grade students in a self-contained classroom at School 21. In 2017, she and her husband, Lee, moved to upper Westchester with their two daughters. Liz began her journey at Camp Floradan in the summer of 2019 and has since become an integral part of our summer family.

Together with the Floradan Board of Directors, Liz and her leadership team are dedicated to honoring the best of Camp Floradan traditions while embracing new opportunities for growth. With continued upgrades to our facilities and a team approach that fosters community, 2026 promises to be another exciting season at Camp Floradan.
